Co-parenting

Co-parenting Counseling

Parenting naturally presents challenges. These challenges may be intensified when done in a co-parenting relationship. WMWG is uniquely equipped to help separated or divorced families with solutions-focused counseling and groups

In addition to our individual counseling for those struggling in the transitions and challenges of divorce, WMWG is proud to now offer co-parenting groups! These groups help to enhance parental communication and cooperation to foster a parenting team, so everyone benefits, especially the children. Contact us with questions or to get signed up.

Same evidence based curriculum, different groups for each parent

The 8-week, step-by-step curriculum, which helps parents navigate communication, co-parenting decisions, boundaries, and conflict resolution, is presented by Marge Lucas who brings 30+ years of experience.

While both parents go through the same curriculum, the group is offered two nights each week, with each parent attending a different group than their co-parent. Groups are proven to be highly effective. It allows participants to learn from others, have a safe environment to practice skills, gain wisdom from how others have navigated challenges, and be around others who "get it."

Benefits to parents and children

Children experience:

  • Less tension at both homes
  • Reduced risk of "being caught in the middle"

  • Reduced stress

Parents experience:

  • Increased personal responsibility
