Relationship counseling

Many of us have and will experience strain within our relationships including family, marriage, friendships, coworkers and more. Relationship counseling provides a neutral, safe environment for working through the relational dynamics and creating insight about what you can and can’t control and/or impact in the relationship

Relationship counseling can encompass, but is not limited to:

  • Family challenges
  • Marriage issues: communication, intimacy, conflict resolution, parenting, trust, etc.
  • Affair recovery
  • Boundary struggles
  • Premarital counseling
  • Co-parenting/divorce recovery

Relationships can be hard.

We were created in and for relationship. But, let’s face it. Joy from relationships can be one of the most beautiful parts of life and relationships are hard. We are here to walk with you and help you navigate the challenges and wounding that can happen as a result of being in relationship.

Working on strengthening relationships can be hard work, and we know that sometimes both or all parties are not willing to put in the work. If you find yourself in this dynamic, please reach out. There are still ways that you can become individually stronger and healthier. Counseling can also be a place for you if you find yourself struggling with relationships in general.

Marriage and couples counseling

Requests for marriage counseling has increased greatly in the last several years. We understand the struggle and the hurt that happens inside of a marriage. You may feel hopeless, but we are here to help hold the hope for you and provide space to rebuild trust, connection, intimacy, and communication. West Michigan Wellness Group has multiple therapists that do marriage work with a variety of approaches. We also take a team approach and can offer individual counseling if that need arises in addition to work on the relationship

Be proactive

You don’t need to wait until your marriage or relationship is in crisis to get help. We are continually encouraged by those that choose to come in for assistance while dating, engaged or newly married, or in families where there is strain or tension.

Counseling for relationship struggles

Maybe you find yourself having difficulty with relationships in general. Having a neutral third party can help get to the root of these issues and equip you with tools to repair, strengthen or invest in relationships. This might come through work on boundaries, identity/self-confidence, childhood wounds, or other things beneath the surface of your struggle in relationships.
