Life is complex. It’s full of transitions, challenges, really amazing times and really, really difficult times–often all simultaneously existing together. I can help you learn to hold these seemingly polarizing feelings and experiences with open hands, at the same time. Being human is hard, but it is my hope that by working together, we can find ways to make it just a little bit easier.
Counseling approach:
My approach to counseling is very client centered. No one knows you better than you know yourself. However, I recognize sometimes we get lost or things become messy and foggy. This is where I come in…to journey alongside you as you develop deeper self-awareness and become your most authentic self. My office is a comfortable, genuine environment for you to grow. We might laugh together, cry together, have deep conversations, throw around some sarcastic comments, learn a coping skill, or even have some coffee or tea.
I use something called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT for short, to help you understand the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and actions. Changing thoughts and seeing things from new perspectives can make a significant difference in your life. You will also learn practical coping skills. It can be difficult sometimes to completely remove a struggle in your life, but learning to cope with that struggle can make all the difference.
